Neuma Church has a heritage of planting churches, saving souls, engaging in global mission, equipping believers for ministry and moving in the power of the Holy Spirit. To this day, Neuma Church is an apostolic lighthouse that continues to advance God's Kingdom across the nations.

Our story

1916

Prayer in Sunshine

Charles and Frances Greenwood begin holding prayer meetings in their home in Sunshine, Melbourne.
1925

Sunshine Gospel Hall

After nine years of prayer, the Greenwoods begin gathering as a new church, the Sunshine Gospel Hall. A two-week campaign with evangelist A. C. Valdez sees revival break out.
Richmond Temple

The growing church moves to the Richmond Theatre on Bridge Road and becomes known as Richmond Temple.
1926

A movement

Other Pentecostal assemblies seek to join, and Richmond Temple becomes the mother church of a network of churches, the Pentecostal Church of Australia.
1937

Australian Christian Churches

The Australian Christian Churches (formerly Assemblies of God) is formed, with C. L. Greenwood as its first chairman. Neuma Church is still a part of it today.
