Statement of Response
Neuma Church

13 March 2020

Dear Neuma Church, It’s important that we communicate to you relevant information concerning the recent Coronavirus pandemic that is not only impacting our nation but also the world. In a live press conference, on Friday 13th March 2020, the Prime Minister, Scott Morrison, has called for a national ban on non-essential gatherings over 500 people. This ban is in effect as of Monday 16th March 2020.

The Prime Minister stressed the importance of business as usual and going about our daily lives in a calm and wise manner. We, as the leadership of Neuma Church, want to comply with the temporary precautions put in place.

In response to this, this coming Sunday 15th March 2020, across all Neuma Church Melbourne locations, scheduled services will operate as normal including Prayer Power and Generations Service at our City location. We will be live streaming the preaching component of our morning services across all locations and I will be sharing a timely word from God speaking into His heart for us as a church and the nation.

Moving forward, post Monday 16th March 2020, Sunday services will operate as normal at all Melbourne locations. However, at our City location, we will be ensuring that we do not exceed the recommended amount of people in any of our Sunday services.

As we seek to be proactive to the COVID-19 crisis, we ask that you follow the advice given by the Australian Department of Health and take a look at this link which provides a detailed update of the cautions Neuma Church is taking to keep everyone safe.

It’s so important that as a congregation we remain unified in faith, prayer and in our regular giving. We encourage you to join with us for one day of prayer and fasting next Sunday 22nd March 2020. Let’s pray fervently for God’s protection over each other, our nation and our world, particularly those who are affected by COVID-19.

We don’t share any of this information to alarm or distress you, but to keep you informed as our heart is to protect our people and ensure the safety of the communities in which God has placed us. This is in line with Department of Health guidelines as of 13 March 2020. We will continue to monitor this closely and update you with relevant information on all media platforms.

See you this coming Sunday.

Lots of love,

Ps Corey & Simone Turner
